		Fairhaven Golf Club Fairhaven's serene pastoral setting marries the finest links attributes with its surroundings of trees and open farmland. A fantastic championship layout, Fairhaven has served as a qualifying course each time nearby Royal Lytham & St Annes has hosted the Open. Founded in the town of Fairhaven in 1895, the club relocated to its current site in 1924. It first hosted a professional tournament in 1934, and in 1995, Fairhaven staged the amateur international match between England and Spain, where a young Sergio Garcia showed signs of his potential on this beautifully maintained and idyllic course.

	Rotal Birkdale Golf Club Formed in 1889, Royal Birkdale is regarded as one of the greatest courses in the UK. Royal Birkdale is ranked in the top 30 courses in the world and provides golfers with a severe but fair test, although when the wind blows it does not seem very fair! The first ever Ryder Cup match to be halved was at Royal Birkdale when Jack Nicklaus memorably conceded Tony Jacklins' final putt on the 18th green.
